STAR WARS EPISODE IX: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER MOVIE REVIEW
Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker is directed by J. J. Abrams and stars Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Issac, Anthony Daniels, Naomi Ackie, Domhall Gleeson, Richard E. Grant, Lupita Nyong'o, Keri Russell, Joonas Suotamo, Kelly Marie Tran, Ian McDiarmid, and Billy Dee Williams. The plot of the movie is the surviving Resistance faces the First Order once more in the final chapter of the Skywalker Saga. I loved this movie. I think this is a great and super satisfying way to conclude not only this new trilogy but the Skywalker Saga as a whole. J. J. Abrams nails it I really thought he brought it home in a great fashion. I don't think this is a movie that combats The Last Jedi like a lot of people say it is. I guess for you it is going to depend on how you read certain moments. I thought the choices here were a natural continuation of that story. I don't think this is a trilogy that is fighting itself. The cast once again is fantastic I really do like the character dynamics in this movie. We get a lot more of Finn and Poe and get to see more of their adventures. I like the fact that the team is more cohesive now that they are going on this journey together, and they are not separated like they were in The Last Jedi. It is great to see them all together, and they all have this amazing dynamic like a family at this point. The continuation of Rey and Kylo Ren is fantastic the way they interweave and cross paths, especially in this one, is very well done. I like the fact that there is a continuation of the force bond that is between them where they are able to talk to each other and be with each other in spirit I loved those scenes. Daisy Ridley and Adam Driver are especially good here for me they are the standouts. I thought they had a lot of the emotional weight to carry, and they pulled it off. There scenes together in this one are easily some of my favorites not only in this movie but the whole trilogy. The thing I was most worried about going into this movie was the return of Emperor Palpatine, but I ended up being very happy with it. The scenes with him were so much fun to watch they were intense and very creepy. Ian McDiarmid is always fun to watch as that character and you can tell he is having a great time being back. J. J. Abrams had the difficult task of not only concluding this new trilogy story but the Skywalker Saga as a whole. I really felt that he was able to conclude both stories in a way that for me felt really satisfying. I was reminded how attached I am to not only the old characters but the new characters as well. This is a movie that has great humor, it has great hart, it's got great moments from some of our favorite characters, and it has a few surprises that work very well. 5 out of 5 stars for Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker. I hope you enjoyed my review.
