Last Christmas is directed by Paul Feig and stars Emilia Clark, Henry Golding, Michelle Yeoh, and Emma Thompson. The plot of the movie is Kate is a young woman subscribed to bad decisions. Her last date with disaster? That of having accepted to work as Santa's elf for a department store. However, she meets Tom there. Her life takes a new turn. For Kate, it seems too good to be true. There is not a lot to like about this movie.    Emilia Clark and Henry Golding are really great in this movie they have great chemistry with each other and you can tell that they are having a lot of fun. Emilia Clark is the stand out of the film. You get to learn a lot about her backstory and why she is this curmudgeon, especially around  Christmas time. Seeing that relationship develop between her and Golding's character even though you don't know where it is going to go and there's a lot of mystery surrounding his character. You enjoy watching them together and those scenes are easily the best part of this movie.  I did not care at all about the stuff with Kate and Santa played by Michelle Yeoh. Those scenes really dragged the movie down. There is a romance that forms between Michell Yeoh and another character and it is so painfully embarrassing to sit thought.    There is a subplot that has to do with Emma Thompson's family background and coming from Yugoslavia and not fitting in in London. It felt like that should have been in an entirely different movie.  1 out of 5 stars for Last Christmas. I hope you enjoyed my review.
