ZOMBIELAND MOVIE REVIEW
Zombieland is directed by Ruben Fleischer and stars Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, and Abigail Breslin. The plot of the movie is a shy student trying to reach his family in Ohio, a gun-toting tough guy trying to find the last Twinkie, and a pair of sisters trying to get to an amusement park join forces to travel across a zombie-filled America. I love this movie not only is this movie incredibly funny but it also has a lot of hart to it. For instance, the character Tallaahasse played by Woody Harrelson he comes off as this really rude badass character gunslinging cowboy type character who doesn't give a shit about anyone, but you realize there is a good reason for that because he hates Zombieland and that is why he takes such pride in killing zombies and why he is so good at it for the reason that he lost something so close and dear to him. His backstory and how it initially is told one way, but then you realize that it is another way and you do sympathize with that character. You get the same thing with Columbus played by Jesse Eisenberg he eventually realizes that the place he is headed is a ghost town and his family is gone. What makes this movie work besides the characterization and the emotional beats that are provided throughout along with the comedy and the horror elements this movie has a lot of pop-culture references. Whether it's Bill Murry, Ghostbusters, or certain things that Tallahassee and Columbus say. The practical effects involving the zombies are really good. Zombieland is a movie that has a lot of horror elements, but not too many to oversaturate the comedic tone. It is very funny and lighthearted, but not too much to take away from the emotional beats where you care about all these characters. Basically, Tallahasse was the companion and brother that Columbus never had and Jesse Eisenberg was the love interest that Emma Stone's Wichita never really wanted or cared to have, but they just found each other and Tallahasse became the father figure Abigail Breslin''s Little Rock never wanted. 5 out of 5 stars for Zombieland. I hope you enjoyed my review.
