Maleficent is directed by Robert Stromberg and stars Angelina Jolie, Sharlto Copley, Elle Fanning, Sam Riley, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple, and Lesley Manville. The plot of the movie is a vengeful fairy is driven to curse an infant princess, only to discover that the child may be the one person who can restore peace to their troubled land. I was looking forward to this movie Sleeping Beauty is one of my favorite Disney animated movies and Maleficent is my favorite Disney villain So I was very interested to see this new take on the story. This was a very disappointing movie, but there are some good things about it. Angelina Jolie is fantastic in this movie I like that we got to see the backstory of her character she was the only character in this movie that had any development. The standout scene is when she places the curse on Aurora it felt just like the original animated film and her performance was chilling. When I'm watching a fantasy Disney movie I want to have fun and feel like a kid, but I never had that feeling watching this. There's only one scene where that happened which I mentioned before and the rest of the movie I was bored. There are these three fairy characters they are so fucking annoying they spoke in high-pitched voices, and they had way too much screen time. Every time they were on screen I wanted to rip my ears off. The final big action sequence felt so anticlimactic everything ends so abruptly and everything goes back to being peaceful in such a short amount of time. 2 out of 5 stars for Maleficent. I hope you enjoyed my review.
