READY OR NOT MOVIE REVIEW
Ready or not is directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. The film stars Samara Weaving, Adam Brody, Mark O'Brien, Henry Czerny, and Andie MacDowell. The plot of the movie is a bride's wedding night takes a sinister turn when her eccentric new in-laws force her to take part in a terrifying game. The premise alone got me excited to see this I thought it was original, the cast looked great and I really loved the way the movie looked aswell. Unfortunately, this is a terrible film. The lead actress Samara Weaving is incredible in this movie. Performances in horror movies, for the most part, they really get overlooked and it's unfortunate because those are some of the hardest performances to pull off. Too believably looked scared and terrified and react to things in a way that a normal person would you think it might be easy, but it's probably one of the hardest things to do as an actor. Weaving not only has to act believably scared and shocked by what she is experiencing, but she is also able to find the perverse humor in what she is going through. Other than Samara Weaving who knows how silly of a concept this movie has the rest of the cast take this way too seriously. Most of the scares in this movie are jump scares, and they really overuse them and like most horror films that use jump scares you can predict exactly when it is going to happen. 1 out of 5 stars for Ready or Not. I hope you enjoyed my review.
