Christopher Robin is directed by Marc Forster and stars Ewan McGregor, Hayley Atwell, Jim Cummings, and Brad Garrett. The plot of the movie is a working-class family man, Christopher Robin, encounters his childhood friend Winnie the Pooh, who helps him to rediscover the joys of life. When the trailers for this movie came out I thought it looked pretty good, but I wasn't impressed with the look of Winne the Pooh and his friends, but then I heard their voices and thought okay maybe this can work. I loved this movie it is one of my favorites of the year. This movie is not as simple as you might think it does deal with some heavy topics. All of these characters are how you remember them Winnie the Pooh is still a silly old bear who's obsessed with honey, exploring and being with his friends. Piglet is still shy and timid. Tigger was always my favorite because he was the funny one. He was always energetic bouncing all over the place and having a good time. Eeyore is known for being the depressed one, but in this movie every time he said something depressing it was hysterical. All of the senses that take place in The Hundred Acre Wood are very charming and will make you smile. Ewan McGregor plays Christopher Robin and I thought he really sold the performance. He is a confused person because this is something that every person in the world has to learn. As you grow up you have certain responsibilities you can't just go exploring and be with your friends all the time. That does matter, but you can't forget to surround yourself with things that make you happy. That is such a great message and the movie delivers it extremely well. When the movie changes to Christopher Robin in the real world I was worried that those scenes were not going to be interesting and take me out of the movie. Thankfully that is not the case. Hayley Atwell who plays Evelyn is excellent and has amazing chemistry with Ewan McGregor. Bronte Carmichael plays Madeline the daughter of Christopher and Evelyn and it was fun to see her get to interact with Pooh and his friends. This movie also has a lot of very nice emotional moments and they are all very effective. 5 out of 5 stars for Christopher Robin. I hope you enjoyed my review.
