AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR MOVIE REVIEW
Avengers: Infinity War is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo. It stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Don Cheadle, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Sabastian Stan, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Josh Brolin, and Chris Pratt. The plot of the movie is as the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows, Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has lead up to this moment- the fate of the Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain. I am not the biggest fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In fact, out of the 19 films I have only loved six. Iron Man (2008), Iron Man 2 (2010), The Avengers (2012), Iron Man 3 (2013), Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) and Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017). Going into this movie I was excited just like everyone else. Avengers Infinity War is the most fun I have had watching a Marvel movie. This movie works on so many levels it's astounding because when you have so many superheroes in one movie it could have been a mess. Each of these characters is given enough screen time to get fleshed out a little bit more. You can tell that the directors, Anthony, and Joe Russo know the characters so well and that they are fans of this material. The characters don't disappoint and we get to see characters interact that we haven't before. The Guardians interact with Thor. Which leads to some of the funniest stuff in the movie. We see Doctor Stranger with Tony Stark and Peter Parker. It is also great if you are a casual fan of Marvel like me they make it so you won't feel lost. Thanos was a character that I was worried about because none of the villains in Marvel movies have really stood out. They really do take the time to make Thanos essentially the main character of the movie. That character is so well fleshed out. We understand what he is doing even if it is for the wrong reason. We get more backstory with him and Gamora that was teased in the first Guardians of the Galaxy. Right from the opening scene, you can tell that this is someone not to mess with and really challenges our heroes. Everyone in the cast is fantastic. There is so much action in the movie it is almost overwhelming. The direction is flawless, there is no shaky cam and I was entertained by every action sequence. This is the first movie where I thought there was a real sense of danger because in the past we've known that even though the hero is in danger he had more movies coming. There are some great emotional scenes that had me tearing up a little. This movie does end on a pretty massive cliffhanger obviously I am not going to tell you what it is, but it really got me excited for Avengers 4 and to see how this story wraps up. 5 out of 5 stars for Avengers: Infinity War. I hope you enjoyed my review.
