Ready Player One is directed by Steven Spielberg and stars Tye Sheridan, Olivia Cooke, Ben Mendelsohn, T. J. Miller, Simon Pegg, and Mark Rylance. The plot of the movie is when the creator of a virtual reality world called the OASIS dies, he releases a video in which he challenges all OASIS users to find his Easter Egg, which will give the finder his fortune.    I was very excited to see this movie because it looked like Spielberg was going back to the fun movies that he used to make like E.T., Jurassic Park and Raiders of the Lost Ark. I am so happy to tell you that this movie is fantastic.  The world of the OASIS is breathtaking. I haven't felt this sucked into a world in a movie in a long time. The parts of the movie that takes place in the real world are also well done.  I have to give this movie props for being the most immersive movie I've seen since the Spielberg movies that I mentioned before. He is so good at making you feel like a kid with this childlike wondrous quality. This movie had that, but it felt like it was updated for 2018.    There are a ton of references to video games and movies. You might be thinking if you don't understand most of them that you won't enjoy the movie. I got most of them, but there were a few I didn't know and it didn't take away from my enjoyment of the film.  I also really enjoyed the characters in this movie. The main character Wade played by Tye Sheridan is a very likable protagonist. Art3mis played by Olivia Cooke was a badass character and she had really good chemistry with Parzival.  Aech is Parzival's best friend. I'd say he is the comic relief, but he is a lot more than that he is a supporting character. He does get a lot of funny moments.  The bad guy in this movie is Nolan Sorrento played by Ben Mendelsohn he is just a corporate asshole, but he plays it well. The action is the movie is terrific. There is a race scene early in the movie that is so much fun.   In the end Ready Player One was awesome. I love the world of the OASIS. Steven Spielberg directs this movie beautifully he is, in my opinion, the greatest filmmaker of all time. The story sucks you in right away. I felt attached to all of the characters.  5 out of 5 stars for Ready Player One. I hope you enjoyed my review.
