Darkest Hour is directed by Joe Wright and stars Gary Oldman, Kristin Scott Thomas, Lily James, Stephen Dillane, Ronald Pickup, and Ben Mendelsohn. The plot of the movie is during the early days of World War II, the fate of Western Europe hangs on the newly-appointed British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, who must decide whether or not to negotiate with Hitler, or fight on against incredible odds.    I was not looking forward to watching this these type of movies usually bore me, but then I started hearing that it could get some awards come OSCAR time so I thought I would check it out.  As I predicted I was very bored with this film the only thing I liked was Gary Oldman as Winston Churchill. He is completely unrecognizable and gives one of the best performances of the year.  Everyone else I wasn't interested in anything they were saying or doing.  I was not interested in the story at all and there were multiple times where I felt like I wanted to fall asleep and the movie's slow pace did not help at all.  1 out of 5 stars for Darkest Hour. I hope you enjoyed my review.
