WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES MOVIE REVIEW
War For the Planet of the Apes is directed by Matt Reeves and stars Andy Serkis, Woody Harrelson, and Steve Zahn. The plot of the movie is after the apes suffer unimaginably loses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. This has been a great series so far I loved Rise and Dawn and usually by the time we get to the third movie in a series it starts to fall apart. This is a fantastic movie and honestly, I can't come up with anything wrong with it. The motion-capture work has gotten so good that the apes look real. Andy Serkis once again is brilliant as Caesar and the team of people that help animate him and the other apes are geniuses. Another favorite character of mine in all three of these movies is Maurice the orangutan. There is a scene early on in the film where they find a young girl and Maurice convinces Caesar to let them bring her along I liked the relationship that developed between the two of them where he acts as her protector. Woody Harrelson runs a faction of men that are enslaving some apes and he was a great villain very intimidating. He has a scene with Caesar where they are talking about the past. Usually, exposition scenes are boring, but those two characters are so interesting that I was very interested in what they were saying. If you do go to see this don't go expecting a bunch of action scenes. You do get some action scenes, but most of the time is spent with the apes it never gets boring or feels too long which is good. Steve Zahn plays Bad ape and when he showed up I thought this is going to be the new Jar Jar Binks, but he was a great addition to the film and almost everything he does is funny. I could not be happier with this movie it is a wonderful addition to this new Plant of the Apes series. 5 out of 5 stars for War of the Planet of the Apes. I hope you enjoyed my review.
