THE BIG SICK MOVIE REVIEW
The Big Sick is directed by Michael Showalter and stars Kumail Nanjiani, Zoe Kazan, Holly Hunter, and Ray Romano. This film is based on a true story and tells how Kumail Nanjiani met his wife Emily. I loved every minute of this movie. What I loved most was the chemistry between Kumail and Emily it's so natural that it doesn't feel like you are watching a movie. It felt like I was watching two friends meet and start to fall for each other. It's not just their romance that is good, but their friendship and their comedic back-and-forth it all felt so real. The problem in the movie is that Kumail is living in Chicago with his family who are from Pakistan and they insist that he marry a Pakistani girl. So Kumail is constantly hiding from his family that he is dating a white girl. At some point, a sickness comes along and I won't go into it here I'll let you experience it in the movie. This film is brilliant both with its comedy and its drama. Most of the time in comedies I fell that the humor is really forced. The humor in this film seems very natural I haven't laughed this hard in a comedy in a long time. The drama is handled very well I found myself getting attached to these characters very quickly so when this sickness does come along you want everything to turn out all right in the end. Ray Ramano and Holly Hunter play Emily's parents and they add a lot to the film both in terms of humor and drama. The Big Sick is as good as I heard it was. This is one of the best films of the year 5 out of 5 stars for The Big Sick. I hope you enjoyed my review and I hope it helped you decide whether to see the movie or not.
