DESPICABLE ME 2 MOVIE REVIEW
Despicable Me 2 is directed by Pierre Coffin and Chris Renaud and stars Steve Carell, Kristen Wig, Benjamin Bratt, Miranda Cosgrove, Russell Brand, Steve Coogan, and Ken Jeong. The plot of the movie is when Gru, the world's most super-bad turned super-dad has been recruited by a team of officials to stop lethal muscle and a host of Gru's own. He has to fight back with new gadgetry, cars, and more minion madness. After watching the first film again and enjoying it I was hoping that my opinion of this one would also change. I do think there are some good things about this film, but overall I thought it was a huge letdown. The animation looks even better than in the first movie. That's one of the things I love about animation sequels a lot of them look even better than their previous movie. All the character designs are very unique you don't see animation like this that often. I do like that they decided to keep Gru a good character and not try to turn him bad. Easily my favorite part of the first movie was the relationship between Gru and the girls and while the girls are put to the side in this whenever they did have scenes together I still really enjoyed them. Now for what I did not like and there is a lot first the new characters I found them all very boring and not funny at all especially Benjamin Bratt's character. I just finished watching this movie and I don't remember a thing about him. In the first movie, I liked the Minions because they were the side characters and there wasn't that much of them. They are in this one way too damn much and they are extremely irritating. I hope the next movie puts them back in the small role they had in the first film. Also like I mentioned before the best part of the first one was Gru and the girls and someone made the stupid decision to give them almost nothing to do. That is another thing that needs to change in the new one. Just like the first one I thought this was very predictable. There's this mystery surrounding who the villain is and there is a lot of different suspects, but it's completely obvious. 2 out of 5 stars for Despicable Me 2. I hope you enjoyed my review.
