The Circle is directed by James Ponsoldt and stars Emma Watson, Tom Hanks, John Boyega, Karen Gillan, Ellar Coltrane, Patton Oswalt, Glenne Headly, and Bill Paxton.  The plot of the movie is a woman lands a dream job at a powerful tech company called the Circle, only to uncover a nefarious agenda that will affect the lives of her friends, family and that of humanity. I was looking forward to seeing this even though I thought the book was pretty bad.   I surprisingly enjoyed this movie a lot. The topic of has technology gone too far is very relevant. For the first fifteen minutes of this movie I thought I was going to hate it. Not much happens that is that interesting.  Emma Watson is great in her role and her character Mae is likable, but it's not until she meets John Boyega's character that the movie picks up and becomes very suspenseful. I always enjoy seeing Tom Hanks in a film. He is one of my favorite actors and he is fantastic here. His character is intriguing and your not sure if he is a villain. I thought Mae's parents were really good characters. Bill Paxton plays her father I had almost forgotten that this is his final film so that's very sad. I thought it was interesting how both of her parents started noticing things about her new job that are very wrong and she hasn't noticed those things because she's gotten so sucked into this new world.   My biggest problem with the movie besides the first fifteen minutes being slow is that the film ends rather abruptly.  4 out of 5 stars for The Circle. I hope you enjoyed my review.

Gifted is directed by Marc Webb and stars Chris Evans, Mckenna Grace, Lindsay Duncan, Jenny Slate, and Octavia Spencer. The plot of the movie is Frank, a single man raising his child prodigy niece Mary, is drawn into a custody battle with his mother.  I was really looking forward to seeing this most of the time I end up enjoying these smaller movies more than the big blockbusters. I loved this movie. I thought it was very endearing and well-acted. Chris Evens is really good in this movie also Jenny Slate terrific and Octavia Spencer is wonderful, but the real star here is Mckenna Grace who is a star in the making and I hope she isn't just put in roles similar to this because Hollywood does like to give child stars similar roles.   I was worried a little that this would feel like a Hallmark movie you know what I mean sappy and melodramatic and there were some courtroom scenes that could have made the film fell that way, luckily that does not happen. The most charming thing about the movie is the chemistry between Chris Evans and Mckenna Grace. There are a lot of big fun action movies coming out this summer and I'm sure this will get buried under those movies, but I hope you do check it out it is worth watching.  5 out of 5 stars for Gifted. I hope you enjoyed my review.

Before I Fall is directed by Ry Russo-young and stars Zoey Deutch, Halston Sage, Logan Miller, Kian Lawly, Jennifer Beals, Diego Boneta, and Elena Kampouris. The plot of the movie is February 12 is just another day in Sam's charmed life, until it turns out to be her last. Stuck reliving her last day over one inexplicable week, Sam untangles the mystery around her death and discovers everything she's losing.    The trailers for this movie did look interesting, even though the reliving the same day thing has been done a million times.  This is a completely average movie nothing really stands out. The movie is about ninety minutes long and it took an hour for me to get into it. The biggest reason why it took me such a long time to get into the movie was because of the characters they are hard to like. Zoey Deutch's character Sam is a complete bitch and her group of snotty friends is if possible worse. So this group of four bitches are the Mean Girls of the high school and they terrorize this other girl named Juliet they call her names and they throw drinks at her. So you don't give a damn what happens to these people. Even when Sam starts reliving the same day I still found her to be very unlikable.    I was convinced that this was going to end up being my least favorite movie of the year, but then we get to the final thirty minutes of the film where Sam decides to stop being a complete bitch I found the character to be a lot more pleasant. I like that she realized that she needs to change things about herself and I like that she did that and turned out to be nice. So the final thirty minutes I enjoyed and then the movie ends and I wished the whole movie could have been like that.    The parts were she is reliving the same day I thought would get repetitive, but she does do different things each time. I did like Zoey Deutch performance and am interested in seeing what else she does.  2 out of 5 stars for Before I fall. I hope you enjoyed my review.

Going in Style is directed by Zach Braff and stars Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Alan Arkin, Joey King, Matt Dillon, Christopher Lloyd, and Ann-Margret. The plot of the movie is desperate to pay the bills and come through for their loved ones, three lifelong pals risk it all by embarking on a daring bid to knock off the very bank that absconded with their money.   I was looking forward to seeing this the trailers made it look very funny and I am a fan of the three main actors. These three are legends and they have been acting for a very long time. Easily the best part of this movie is seeing Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, and Alan Arkin together and they are all great in this movie. The characters were likable and I was interested in what was going to happen to them.    The problem I had with this movie was I didn't find it to be that funny. There's a scene towards the beginning of the movie where the three of them are watching The Bachelor that was the only time I laughed in this entire movie the rest of the time I was just rolling my eyes at the screen.  2 out of 5 stars for Going in Style. I hope you enjoyed my review.

The Fate of the Furious is directed by F. Gary Gray and stars Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris Bridges, Scott Eastwood, Nathalie Emmanuel, Kurt Russell, and Charlize Theron. The plot of the movie is when a mysterious woman seduces Dom into the world of terrorism and a betrayal of those closest to him, the crew faces trials that will test them as never before.    Everything about Fate of the Furious is completely ridiculous and that's exactly what I want from these movies the more ridiculous the better. Charlize Theron's character hacks into a thousand cars in the city and sends them all after our favorite team. There's another scene were Tyrese is surfing on a car door on ice. What more could you possibly want?  If you go into this movie the 8th entry in this series expecting something that is OSCAR worthy than don't go to this movie.  If your one of those people who like to point out things in movies that could never happen than just don't go.    The best part of this movie is the chemistry or lack of between Jason Statham and Dwayne Johnson these guys are enemies and they are put in jail together and I loved every scene with them. This movie entertained me. I go into these movies expecting just some really loud car chases and action and Vin Diesel saying the word family about fifty times.  As for my problem with the movie the pacing in the 2nd acted really dragged it's just a lot of planning about what they are going to do about Dom and his rebellion against the team it just goes on a little too long.  For some reason with this series of movies ever since the fifth one, I do not care if completely insane things happen.  4 out of 5 stars for The Fate of the Furious. I hope you enjoyed my review.

Furious 7 is directed by James Wan and stars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Kurt Russell, and Jason Statham. The plot of the movie is Deckard Shaw seeks revenge against Dominic Toretto and his family for his comatose brother.   I am happy to say that just like 5 and 6 this is a ton of fun. It's a big stupid dumb time with cars flying out of airplanes and using parachutes explosions and fistfights these are all great things.  The production of this movie faced a big problem when Paul Walker tragically passed away.    There are aspects of this movie that do feel very convoluted, the plot seems like it's happening in two different movies at times and it is unfortunately painfully obvious when CGI Paul Walker is around. I am not going to doc those things against the movie.    I was satisfied with this movie. It is a fitting send-off for Paul Walker's character. I think they handled that as best they could. The action as silly as it gets as this series goes on is still a lot of fun to watch. The characters continue to be likable.    I do have two big problems with this movie. The first is that one of my favorite things to happen in this series was The Rock as Hobbs helped make 5 and 6 better than they could have been. He's barely in this movie. My second issue is James Wan's filming when it came to the hand-to-hand combat scenes. He chooses to go with the hyperactive high frame rate quick-cut editing. There isn't shaky cam, but the high frame rate and quick cuts make it hard to tell what is going on. I will give them a pass on the fact that sometimes the plot is convoluted since I am sure that is a result of what happened.  4 out of 5 stars for Furious 7.

Fast and Furious 6 is directed by Justin Lin and stars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris Bridges, Sung Kang, Luke Evans, Gina Carano, and John Ortiz. The plot of the movie is Hobbs has Dominic and Brian reassemble their crew to take down a team of mercenaries. Dominic unexpectedly gets convoluted also facing his presumed deceased girlfriend, Letty.    Going into Fast Five yesterday I wasn't really looking forward to it I absolutely hated the first four, but Fast Five really surprised me it was a lot of fun. This movie just like the last is also very entertaining. Fast and Furious 6 knows exactly what it wants to be and that is just a fun over-the-top action film. If you're looking for anything more I would suggest watching other films. Although these movies won't be winning any awards for screenwriting anytime soon I do admire the fact that the writers squeeze in some character moments and still want to make you care about them. Despite some pretty weak dialogue I still care about these characters they are likable people and when they are put in harm's way I do care for their lives.    Though there are some nice character moments what everyone wants to see in these movies is the action and the action doesn't disappoint. Justin Lin really knows how to direct his action sequences I love that he sticks with practical effects for the most part and it pays off to film action that way because it feels like it's actually happening.  There's a great car chase that involves a tank which is ridiculous, but so much fun to watch.  The performances I don't even know why I'm talking about them they have never really been great I thought they stepped it up a little in the last film, but not much and in this one I feel pretty much the same way. I do think the not so great acting is made up for by these characters all being likable.    The only things I didn't really care for were the dialogue was weak, but I expected that going in so that's not a big problem. My other problem is as this series has gone on you have to suspend so much disbelief, for example, there's a hand-to-hand combat fight scene were Gina Carano and Michelle Rodriguez are fighting and they're kicking the shit out of each other and after that scene is over Michelle Rodriguez doesn't have a scratch on her bullshit she flew down a flight of stairs and got kicked up against a wall. It was still entertaining to watch, but just add a little bit of realism to these fight scenes.  4 out of 5 stars for Fast and Furious 6.

Fast Five is directed by Justin Lin and stars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris Bridges, Matt Schulze, Sung Kang, and Dwayne Johnson. The plot of the movie is Dominic Toretto and his crew of street racers plan a massive heist to buy their freedom while in the sights of a powerful Brazilian drug lord and a dangerous federal agent.    I haven't enjoyed any of these movies and yet for some reason, I am still hoping that at least one of them will be good. This movie is so much better than the previous four movies. Everyone involved knows what kind of movie they are trying to make and that's just an entertaining movie with tons of action, bullets and explosions and the movie does not disappoint at all. The action in this movie is some of the best I've seen in a long time and my favorite part of the action is it's all practical there is no CGI or computer effects. You can tell that everyone in the cast had a blast making this film they know that the action is so over-the-top and they love it and I loved it too. My favorite action scene is when they drive the bank vault out of the police station that scene is so much fun to watch.    There is also a lot of improvements to story-wise and acting-wise. The storyline this time is a lot more focused and interesting and it's cool to see the cast step up a little they are still not great actors, but it's an improvement. This one made me get attached to these characters.  This film adds Dwayne Johnson and he's always a lot of fun to watch.  Of course, there are some problems with the movie there was a small part of the film that dragged a little bit, but thankfully that doesn't last long.  4 out of 5 stars for Fast Five.

Fast and Furious is directed by Justin Lin and stars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, John Ortiz, and Laz Alonso. The plot of the movie is Brian O'Conner, back working for the FBI in Los Angeles, teams up with Dominic Toretto to bring down a heroin importer by infiltrating his operation.    If you have been following my reviews for this series than you'll know that I have absolutely despised all the Fast and the Furious movies right from the first one. This one does have some entertaining moments in it, but it is still a very poor film.   First, what I liked about the film the action scenes are amazing and I did like seeing Vin Diesel and Paul Walker together again.      While I did enjoy seeing our two leads back I thought the rest of the cast which haven't been in the series since the first are just as bad as they were before. Thankfully there is not as much shaky cam as there was in the first, but there is a little bit. There is a scene where Paul Walker is chasing some guy and the camera is all over the place. I don't understand what is so hard about keeping the damn camera still. Once again the plot is moronic.  2 out of 5 stars for Fast and Furious.

The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift is directed by Justin Lin and has no returning cast members from the other two films. This is if it's even a possibly worse than the other two.  Tokyo Drift actually takes place after Fast and Furious 6. There's this kid named Sean Boswell who is played by Lucas Black who is sent to Tokyo after he blows parole yet again. He lives with his dad and becomes involved in drift racing and that's about it.    The one positive thing I will say about this film is that the cinematography is great they make Japan look awesome.   The plot and the acting in this movie are absolute crap. Lucas Black was annoying I don't know if that accent is his real accent, but if it isn't he needs to stop. Honestly, I don't remember too much of this movie because I think it is the worst one I chose to push Tokyo Drift out of my head. I fell like the plot is so nonsensical. I know this is my shortest review yet, but honestly, I don't care.  0 out of 5 stars for The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.

2 Fast 2 furious is directed by John Singleton and the only returning cast member is Paul Walker guess why. If you said because this movie is shit than you are correct.  So since the end of the last movie he has been on the run from the FBI. He travels across the country and he's decided that he is going to stay in Miami and then the film starts. That's right the only way you would actually know this is if you looked it up on Wikipedia like I had to or you own the DVD where there is a prologue that tells you everything you need to know for this film. That's all backstory to actually understand this movie because the dialogue is so stupid you can't understand anything and neither would you want to be told that much by these people because you can't stand listening to them.    I understand that these movies aren't about the plot they are about racing cars, but firstly do you really want to bank so hard on your action that you have basically no plot. Secondly, if you are not going to put in any plot worth talking about then you need to put extra effort into the action not less.   The first race in this movie is an exact copy of the first race from the first movie and it goes on for way too long. You can see right from the beginning of this movie that the cars are not real cars. This was made in 2003 so CGI wasn't what it is today so it's even worse.  There's this part in the first race were a drawbridge goes up and the cars jump over and Paul Walker's car goes over the other guy's in midair and then he lands and it looks so fake it's done in about 5 different cuts.    So after the first race gets found by the FBI and he's sent on another mission undercover again to infiltrate this drug lord. He accepts with one condition that he gets to pick his own co-driver Tyrese Gibson who is complete crap and the two have zero chemistry.   So the plot is just there so the action scenes can happen and the action scenes aren't even good and the plot is even worse. So I can't find a single thing worth recommending 0 out of 5 stars for 2 Fast 2 Furious.

The Fast and the Furious is directed by Rob Cohan and stars Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, and Jordana Brewster.    When I first saw this movie I liked it a lot. Having just watched it again I have no idea what the hell I was thinking this movie is terrible. I already regret saying I was going to do this series.      The film opens with a truck full of things. So are we going to learn about the truck now? Nope. There's a scene change and it's nighttime and some black cars are chasing the truck. At this point, we are not told who is chasing the damn truck. So these genius heisters are going to use a harpoon to pull the windshield out of the truck. Then they are going to use the second harpoon and climb into the truck through the windshield that they just pulled out and knock out the truck driver. I fell like they made this way to complected they could have just oh I don't know stole the damn keys. So why do they do things the complected way you may ask well that is never explained.    Then the movie cuts to a shot of Paul Walker driving his car during the daytime and he sucks at driving we know this because there is a lot of shaky camera work.  Then Paul walker goes to a diner to talk to some girl why he goes here is never explained. Then some guys pull up and start talking about their cars. I don't know who the hell these guys are or why this matters. Then Paul walker gets in a fight with some dude. Then after the fight, he goes to a car shop where he starts ranting about how he needs nitrous oxide for his car and you guessed it it's not explained why he needs it so bad.    After getting what he needs he takes his car to some kind of car meet thing. At the car meet, Paul Walker demands the right to race and he bets the pink slip to his car. Obviously, this is an unfair bet which raises the question why would he make this insane bet well to bad that you asked that because it's not going to be explained.  Paul Walker loses the race, but for some moronic reason is happy about it and then he tries to be friendly with everyone.    Then Vin Diesel and Paul Walker are attacked by a motorcycle gang. After talking with Vin Diesel and Paul Walker for about 30 seconds they shoot the car and set in on fire. Who are these people? Why is this happening? Not explained           They then go back to Vin Diesel's house where everyone's having a party. you may be thinking to yourself is this party important? Well, I have no fucking idea. Then Paul walker flirts with this girl. I have no idea what the plot of this damn movie is.    Then after the slowest 37 minutes of my life, we finally get an explanation Paul Walker is an undercover cop trying to find out whether Vin Diesel stole the truck from the beginning of the movie.    So my main issues are 1. You have to sit through 37 minutes of the film before the movie reveals the main conflict and I think 37 minutes of exposition is the definition of slow. 2. Once you hit that 37-minute mark you have to wait 30 more minutes before Paul Walker races again and at that point your two-thirds into the movie and he races a random guy at a stoplight.  Then you have to wait 20 more minutes for the climactic action scene which isn't about Paul Walker it focuses on another random guy.  0 out of 5 stars will never watch again.
