SKYSCRAPER MOVIE REVIEW

Skyscraper is directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber and stars Dwayne Johnson, Neve Campbell, Chin Han, Roland Moller, Noah Taylor, Byron Mann, Pablo Schreiber and  Hannah Quinlivan. The plot of the movie is a father goes to great lengths to save his family from a burning skyscraper. The trailers for this movie made it look like it was a rip off of Die Hard.     I found this film to be awful. There is not a lot about this movie that feels original almost every action scene in this movie felt like it was taken from another film.  As is the case with anything he is in Dwayne Johnson is the most entertaining part of this film, but I have seen him do a lot better. His character is just a father who wants his family back and there isn't much else to him.  This is a $125 million dollar movie and I don't understand why that money was wasted on a movie that rips off about 10 movies that are much better.    Setting aside the originality complaint and just looking at this film nothing about this movie feels real whenever the characters are put in danger it never feels like they could die at any moment because you can clearly tell that they are on a green screen set.  As far as the villains go there are so many and they keep shifting. It starts out and one person is bad then he will turn out to be okay then the other guy is not so great and this continues.    Dwayne Johnson was the only reason why I kept watching this otherwise very forgettable film.  1 out of 5 stars for Skyscraper. I hope you enjoyed my review and I hope it helped you decide whether to see the movie or not.
