THOR: THE DARK WORLD MOVIE REVIEW

Thor: The Dark World is directed by Alan Taylor and stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Stellan Skarsgard, Idris Elba, Kat Dennings and Rene Russo. The plot of the movie is When Dr. Jane Foster gets cursed with a powerful entity known as the Aether, Thor is heralded of the cosmic event known as the Convergence and the genocidal Dark Elves. Just like the first Thor movie I thought that this movie was mostly enjoyable. The performances, for the most part, I really enjoyed. Chris Hemsworth continues to prove he is perfect as Thor. He's his usual charming charismatic self. Tom Hiddleston is fantastic as Loki any scene he is in he completely just eats up the scenery, he delivers so many laughs and there's one cameo that he institute's that is great and I did not expect. I love the banter between him and Thor and I loved seeing them have to team up it made for some great comedy. Natalie Portman was fine in the last movie and she is trying her best here, but she isn't given that much. Kat Dennings continues to be the most annoying person in these movies.    This film is directed by Alan Taylor and he did a much better job than Kenneth Branagh. He films the action a lot better. There is a lot of fun to be had with these action scenes and the big climax of the movie is really fantastic.    As for the problems I had the villain in this movie is awful he is not menacing at all, he doesn't pose much of a threat and any time he was on screen he dragged the film down. The pacing in this movie is off there are some really slow scenes the movie takes a while to get going and then some scenes will have great energy to them and then there will be other scenes that feel slow and unnecessary. It felt like Natalie Portman's character didn't need to be in this movie and that character just felt forced.     3 out of 5 stars for Thor: The Dark World. I hope you enjoyed my review and I hope it helped you decide whether to see the movie or not.
